How long should a massage be? 60, 90 or 120 minutes

Every massage at Massage Time Spa is a full-body session, and the one thing you choose is how long it lasts. Here's how to pick the length that fits you.

The quick answer

If it's your first massage, or you want a full-body reset, book 60 minutes. If one area needs real attention, like your low back, neck or legs, book 90. If you're recovering from a big week, or you simply don't want it to end, book 120. Whichever you choose, it's a full-body massage, and your therapist shapes it around you.

You choose the length. We tailor the rest.

At Massage Time Spa you don't pick a style of massage off a menu. Every session is a full-body massage from a licensed therapist, and the one thing you choose is how long it lasts.

Everything else is built around you. At the start of your session, tell your therapist what's going on and what you'd like to feel afterward. They'll blend in what fits: long, relaxing Swedish-style strokes, slower deep tissue work, sports-focused recovery, myofascial work, or gentle prenatal positioning. One session can mix several, like deeper work on your legs and a softer touch on your shoulders.

60 minutes: the full-body reset

How it feels: enough time for your whole body, from your back, neck and shoulders to your arms, legs and feet, with a little extra attention wherever you need it.

Best for: a first visit, regular maintenance, or a reset in the middle of a busy week.

90 minutes: room for problem areas

How it feels: the same full-body massage, with real time set aside for the spots that need it, so nothing else gets rushed.

Best for: a knot that keeps coming back, a stiff neck from desk work, sore legs after a long hike, or anyone who finds an hour ends too soon.

120 minutes: the long, unhurried session

How it feels: slow and thorough. Your therapist can work every area properly and still spend extra time where you're tightest.

Best for: big recovery days, a treat you've been putting off, or a session with an add-on or two.

A few things that help you decide

  • First massage? Start with 60. You'll find out what your body likes, and you can go longer next time.
  • One area that needs work? Go with 90, so that area gets proper time without shortchanging the rest of you.
  • Adding hot stone, cupping or aromatherapy? Add-ons fit into any length. Some lengthen your appointment, so mention them when you book. Not sure which one to try? Read hot stone or MCT cupping.
  • Booked 60 and wish you had more? Ask about a 30-minute extension.
